Ladurée Soho

6.5

Out of 10

A 2,530-square-foot garden canopied by cherry trees, hidden behind a West Broadway storefront. Come for afternoon tea — scones, macarons, petit fours — and the illusion, for an hour, that you are not in SoHo at all.

Reviewed September 2026

Ladurée SoHo is doing something specific: it is a Parisian fantasy with a garden, and it mostly pulls it off. The indoor dining room reads Old World — the kind of room that has opinions about itself. Walk through it and you end up outside under cherry trees, beside an antique fountain and French trellising, which is an absurd thing to find behind a storefront on West Broadway and that is precisely the point.

The Vibe

Two indoor dining rooms, low light, densely decorated in the Ladurée palette — green, gold, soft curves. The garden beyond is the real draw: cherry blossom trees overhead, limestone walls, a fountain anchoring one end, an outdoor bar along the side. Weekday afternoons are quiet enough to talk. Weekend brunch packs both spaces and the service starts to feel the pressure. The Pompadour Room is the better indoor option if the garden is full.

What to Order

  • The Ispahan — lychee, raspberry, rose in a single macaron. The thing Ladurée does better than anyone, and the best argument for sitting down rather than ordering to go.
  • Vol-au-vent — free-range chicken, morel and button mushrooms in a butter pastry shell. The kitchen's most serious dish, and one of the few savory options worth ordering.
  • Skip the egg dishes — the pastry case is why you're here. Omelettes and eggs Benedict exist on the menu, but the kitchen's strength is not the egg program.

When to Come

A weekday afternoon — book the afternoon tea between 4 and 6pm, ask for garden seating, and accept that the garden can close without notice (indoor is still worth it). This is a brunch-or-tea date, full stop: the kitchen closes by evening. Right for a second or third date — specific, low-stakes, genuinely pretty.

The Bottom Line

If the garden is open and the macarons are fresh, this is a lovely couple of hours — just don't expect the food to carry the evening the way the room does.
