Every reviewed venue carries a date score from 0 to 10. It isn't a measure of how good the food is or how high the place rates on Google — it's how hard we'd push you toward it for a date. A great restaurant can score low if it's the wrong energy for a night out, and a humble spot can score high if it's exactly right.
One wrinkle worth knowing: we score a place against what it's for. A coffee window you'd swing by for four minutes and a cocktail bar you'd settle into for the evening sit on different curves — a great stop and a great destination can both earn a high number, each judged on its own terms.
