Start here, and start slow. Moonflower is a 500-square-foot natural wine bar on West 11th — pastel murals, a disco ball bathroom mirror, and a list of mostly European bottles that won't break you. Ask the staff to pick your pour by your mood (or your sign, they'll go there), and do not leave without ordering the salted chocolate mousse.
~7 min walk (0.4 mi). From Moonflower, head south on West 11th toward Cornelia Street — it's one of the most photographed blocks in the city for a reason. Slow down on the approach, especially if it's lit up at night.

Palma has been doing candlelit Italian on Cornelia Street since 2001, and the room still earns it — ivy-covered garden out back, housemade pasta, organic ingredients, tables spaced far enough apart that your conversation stays yours. When you book, ask specifically for the garden. The kind of dinner that makes the West Village feel like it was built just for this.
~1 min walk (0.1 mi). After dinner, loop west on Cornelia to Hudson, then south to Bleecker. The stretch of Hudson between Christopher and Bleecker is peak West Village energy — brownstones, low light, no rush.

A Turinese chocolate house in the old Grom space on Bleecker, gold-accented and just small enough that you'll be standing close. The pistachio gelato is the move — rich, properly earthy, nothing like the green stuff at the airport. Crêpes come draped in hazelnut-chocolate from an actual fountain, which is exactly as theatrical as it sounds. Open until midnight on weekends, no excuses needed.
