Bar Madonna sets the tone immediately — low glow, Italian-American energy, and a cocktail menu that actually has a point of view. Order a round of their playful Italian-inspired drinks and split a smashed meatball parm while you settle in. It's the kind of place that makes Metropolitan Avenue feel like it belongs in a movie.
~6 min walk (0.3 mi). From Bar Madonna on Metropolitan, you're heading toward Lorimer St — it's a pleasant walk through a quieter residential stretch. Keep an eye out for the murals tucked along the side streets off Metropolitan.

Pomp and Circumstance is thirty seats, brick walls, and a hearth oven cranking out pita to order — the kind of room where conversation flows because the space actually lets it. Chef James Ahearn's Armenian-Sicilian menu reads like a fever dream in the best way: lamb meatballs, trout roe pasta, labneh that vanishes before anyone admits to eating it. Get the pita and dip during happy hour if you can swing it.
~15 min walk (0.8 mi). Pomp and Circumstance sits on Lorimer St, and Gelateria Gentile is over on Wythe Ave — a bit of a trek northwest, but it's a great excuse to wander through the heart of Williamsburg. Note: Wythe Ave edges toward the Northside/Wythe corridor, just slightly outside the core Lorimer-Metropolitan zone, but it's still very much a Williamsburg night.

Gelateria Gentile has been making gelato in Puglia since 1880, and the Williamsburg outpost doesn't coast on the heritage — the fondente and pistachio are the real deal, and you'd be foolish to skip the house panna (a traditional whipped cream from their machine). Grab your scoops and take them outside on Wythe Ave; that's the whole plan, and it's a good one.
