~10 min walk (0.5 mi). Desert Island and Sweetwater sit on opposite ends of the neighborhood's Metropolitan-to-North corridor. Head north from Metropolitan Ave back toward the Bedford Ave spine, then cut over toward N 6th St — a pleasant stroll through the residential blocks where Williamsburg starts to feel less like a destination and more like a place people actually live.

Sweetwater is the neighborhood bistro that Williamsburg somehow keeps to itself — French-American comfort food, banquette seating, and a summertime garden that makes an hour-long solo lunch feel like a small luxury.
