DUMBO's original art school since 2009 — great for kids' camps and birthday parties, solid for an adult paint-and-sip if you plan ahead, but the room runs on children's energy all day, and the date math doesn't quite work out in your favor.

A street corner that actually earns its reputation: the Manhattan Bridge fills the frame, the Empire State Building sits tucked inside the arch, and the cobblestones and red brick do the rest. Go early. Spend five minutes. Then go get a drink.

Chef Ly Nguyen's Saigon-inspired tapas — butter clams, crispy spring rolls, chicken wings in a secret sauce — in a warm, unhurried room two blocks from the water. The food is the draw. Order widely and split everything.

Thirteen thousand square feet of arcade games, self-pour beer taps, feather bowling, and 15 TVs. The rooftop views of the Manhattan Bridge are genuinely great. Everything between the door and the elevator is designed for a bachelor party, not a first date.
