Celestine is the showstopper finish: a wood-fired Mediterranean and Middle Eastern kitchen right on the water at 1 John Street, with views of the East River and the Manhattan Bridge framed through the windows. Order the wood-roasted vegetables, anything that comes out of their oven charred and glossy, and a cocktail that sounds like it was invented somewhere sunnier. As an afternoon bleeds into early evening, there are few better seats in Brooklyn.
