Classic pastas done with care, a tight wine list, and the kind of old-world atmosphere that makes conversation come easy. Order whatever's handmade that day and split a second plate — you'll want to.
~15 min walk (0.7 mi). Piccola Strada to Caffè Panna takes you just west toward Irving Place, which feels noticeably calmer and more residential — a nice gear-shift after dinner. Note that Irving Place technically edges into Gramercy, but Caffè Panna is well worth the short stroll.

This Roman-style gelateria on Irving Place rotates seasonal flavors and does an affogato that should be mandatory at the end of every date.
