This former East Village tenement feels like a secret someone whispered to you — dim, unhurried, and genuinely conversation-first. Grab the wine bar side (on your right when you walk in), order a Negroni or a glass off the board, and let the night find its footing.
~4 min walk (0.2 mi). From The Immigrant, head east on 9th Street toward Avenue C — the blocks get quieter and more residential, which is exactly the right energy after a warm-up drink. Risotteria Melotti is just a short stroll away on 5th Street.

Risotteria Melotti is the only place in the city where a Verona rice-farming family is cooking you dinner with grain from their own fields — and the room knows it. Exposed brick, antique lighting, a sink shaped like a water well: it's cozy without trying too hard. Go for one of the twelve risottos (the mushroom builds are rich and deeply savory) and a pour from the all-Veneto wine list.
~6 min walk (0.3 mi). After dinner, drift north toward 11th Street for Veniero's. Note: a couple of these stops are technically in the East Village rather than NoHo proper — but this is the neighborhood's backyard, and the walk between them is half the fun.

Veniero's has been on East 11th Street since 1894 — same family, same forty-foot glass case, same Neapolitan stained-glass ceiling glowing overhead. Walk in, pull a number, and let the debate over whether to split the cheesecake do the work for you. A cannoli and an espresso here is one of the best $15 decisions you'll make all year.
