Ferdi is a 44-seat West Village gem carrying three generations of Italian hospitality — grandfather in the Bronx, father at the Rainbow Room, now this warm, exposed-brick room on 7th Avenue South. Order something from the pasta section, linger over the red wine list, and save room for the tableside liquid-nitrogen gelato — vanilla bean or Nutella, both land like a proper finale. It's unhurried in the best possible way.
~5 min walk (0.2 mi). Ferdi sits just south of the main West Village grid, closer to the 7th Ave S corridor. From there, the walk to Claude Bakery on W 4th St cuts back through the heart of the neighborhood — pass the old White Horse Tavern on Hudson if you want a quick Dylan Thomas detour before dessert.

Claude Bakery has been a West Village fixture since 1982, and its current incarnation — with a viennoiserie program built on Isigny butter — is the best version yet.
