Dante West Village is the move when you want a cocktail bar that feels like a date room, not a party room. Slide into a velvet banquette, order a Negroni from the tap (yes, from the tap), and if you time it before 5pm, the $10 martinis are a secret worth sharing. The Dante Martini — gin, two vermouths, a whisper of citrus liqueur — is the kind of drink that makes you lean in.
~5 min walk (0.3 mi). Walking from Dante (551 Hudson) to Osteria Carlina (455 Hudson), you're heading south on Hudson — it's a straight, pretty stroll past some of the West Village's best brownstone blocks. Notice the old carriage houses tucked on the side streets.

Osteria Carlina is the West Village Italian spot that regulars guard like a good secret. It's a husband-and-wife Turinese operation: exposed brick, low light, maybe thirty seats, and a menu where the agnolotti del plin and the tableside-shaved truffle angel hair do all the talking. Note that this one is wine, beer, and vermouth only — no cocktails — which is exactly why you started at Dante.
~4 min walk (0.2 mi). From Osteria Carlina, head south on Hudson and cut east on Christopher Street toward Bleecker to reach Aoko Matcha. Christopher Street at night has real West Village character — old neon signs, the occasional garden gate cracked open. Keep your eyes up.

Cap the night with a five-shade matcha gelato flight at Aoko on Bleecker. Level 1 is sweet and crowd-pleasing; Level 5 is ceremonial-grade and properly earthy — sample before you commit, and make it a whole thing. It's open until 11pm, it's tiny, and it's the kind of last stop that feels spontaneous even when you planned it.
