Start at Skin Contact, a dim shotgun bar on Orchard Street that lives and dies by its all-natural wine list — around 200 rotating selections, zero posturing. Skip the menu and just tell them what you're in the mood for; the staff actually tastes everything they're pouring and will steer you right. Don't skip the taleggio-drenched potatoes — they're absurdly good and set the tone for the evening perfectly.
~7 min walk (0.3 mi). Walking from Skin Contact on Orchard to Spaghetti Incident on Eldridge, you'll cut through one of the LES's best blocks — peek into any lit-up windows along Broome Street and enjoy the neighborhood's mix of old tenements and new energy.

Spaghetti Incident on Eldridge Street is exactly as charming as the name suggests — a homey, tucked-away Italian kitchen where the pasta is the whole point. The Sicilian-style rice balls (arancini) make a killer opener, and the pasta dishes hit that rare sweet spot of comfort food that still feels like a special occasion. The room is small and unpretentious in the best possible way.
~1 min walk (0.0 mi). Spaghetti Incident to Bar Goto is barely a stroll — both are on Eldridge Street, so you're essentially staying put. Notice the old synagogue facades and fire escapes overhead as you walk; this stretch of Eldridge is one of the few blocks that still feels like the original Lower East Side.

End the night at Bar Goto, Kenta Goto's 30-seat izakaya-style cocktail bar that opened in 2015 and somehow hasn't had a weak drink since. The Sakura Martini — gin, sake, maraschino, salted cherry blossom — is the move, and if you haven't eaten enough, the miso wings will fix that. At 30 seats, the room feels like a secret even when it's full.
