Cotenna is the West Village in a nutshell: tiny, warm, and completely unpretentious about how good the pasta is. Squeeze into one of the snug tables, order the cacio e pepe and whatever braise is on the menu, and remind yourselves why Italian food became a date-night cliché in the first place (it's because it's perfect). The bar seating is especially fun if you want the kitchen energy.
~6 min walk (0.3 mi). Cotenna to Milk Bar is a short jaunt up toward Christopher St — a lively stretch with good window-shopping energy. Note that Milk Bar sits just a hair east of the deepest West Village pocket, but it's squarely in the neighborhood's orbit and worth the few extra steps.

Cap the night at Milk Bar with Christina Tosi's cult-classic Cereal Milk soft serve — sweet, salty, and just weird enough to give you something to debate on the walk home. Grab a slice of Milk Bar Pie if you're still in it, then take your haul out onto Christopher Street and stroll. This isn't a sit-down situation; it's a moving finale, which is honestly better.
