~8 min walk (0.4 mi). Leaving Lafayette, stroll south on Lafayette St and cut west toward MacDougal — that stretch through the bottom of NoHo into the Village edge has great energy at night. Note: Groove sits just across the border into Greenwich Village, but it's a quick walk and worth every step.

~16 min walk (0.8 mi). After the last set at Groove, head back northeast toward 1st Ave and East Village proper — The Headless Widow is your reward for the detour. The late-night streets between here and there are some of the best people-watching in the city.
